Interview

The digital marketing world changes every day. The way your Facebook account operates at any given moment can be different from the next time you sign in (even if only a few hours have gone by). Despite its constant state of change, arts organizations must be embracing this powerful form of communication.

One of the first people to jump headfirst into the digital arts marketing world was Erik Gensler, who founded his own consulting firm in 2008. Capacity Interactive has now grown tremendously and partners with over 100 of the country’s leading arts and cultural organizations in their digital efforts. Erik and his team also host Digital Marketing Boot Camp for the Arts every year, bringing together industry experts and arts marketers to learn and inspire.

For this week’s podcast, Erik joins us to give his expert opinion on the arts industry’s current digital health and discuss what the future of the digital marketing world holds. Erik finds inspiration from Gary Vaynerchuk, Seth Godin, Tim Ferriss, Cameron Herald and many other visionary entrepreneurs and marketers whom he credits for many of his data points and ideas.
