As I begin my work as the incoming Chief Editor of the Arts Management and Technology Lab (AMT Lab), I want to introduce myself. My name is Samantha Sonnet, and after serving as the Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for AMT Lab throughout the past year, I am excited to embark on this new journey as we continue to research and report on innovation in the world of arts and tech. I will continue the excellent work of our previous Chief Editor, Rachel Broughton, who focused content on emerging technologies in arts and entertainment, digital equity, digital museum studies, and emergent tech & social justice topics.
I am personally passionate about everything in the arts sector. I am fascinated by the intersection of arts and technology, especially topics such as social media, museum studies, UX design, and anything artificial intelligence. As I look forward to the upcoming year, I want to highlight a few topics that will serve as research areas that we feel are important to dive deeper into to expand our offerings to their fullest potential:
Artificial Intelligence
Intersection of Technology and Climate and Social Justice
NFTs and Blockchain
Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality
Technology in Theatre, Museums, & the Performing Arts
User Experience/User Interface Design
Digital Marketing
Social Media
Tools for Nonprofit Organizations
