Stewart: What are the apps you use every day, and why do you like them?

Beth: My every day apps are my basic work apps: Gmail, Google Calendar, Chrome, and various social apps.  I like being able to have the flexibility of being mobile, especially since I travel a lot for work.

I was one of the people who only used their mobile phone as a phone or to scan email because I was not comfortable working on a small screen.  But I challenged myself to do everything on my phone for a week.  This was three years ago, now I use my mobile for everything!

Stewart: Is there an app you think developers should be working on?

Beth: One app and hardware device that I have wanted was just a Kickstarter project. I was a backer. It is a stylus with a scanner that lets you scan real world objects and it duplicates the color. The app lets you draw with it!

Stewart: Is there an app which surprised you with its usefulness?

Beth: Yes. My fitbit.  I track my steps, sleep, and food. I lost 30 pounds and feel more healthy. I use a bunch of health apps that have kept me focused on good healthy habits.

Stewart: If you could recommend an app for every arts manager, what would it be?

Beth: Well, a few recommendations in the area of apps for mindfulness and creativity. I love calm when I am stressed out!  Also puppy weather.  For creativity, I love the creative whack pack and the post it note app that lets you capture sticky note brainstorm sessions.

Arts managers should keep calm and be creative and there are apps for that!
