Another Year of Investigating Emergent Technologies in Arts Management
Dear AMT Lab readers,
My name is Rachel Broughton, and I am excited to be taking over the role of Chief Editor for the Arts Management and Technology Laboratory. I am looking forward to another year of new developments in the realm of arts management and technology. I will be carrying on some of the wonderful work of our previous Chief Editor, Elizabeth Forrey, who lead investigations of the worlds of Gaming, Big Tech, Blockchain & Cryptocurrency, and NFTs.
In addition, our contributors and staff will be diving into landscapes of hybrid intelligence, emerging tech & social justice, data integrity, user experience & design, and the issues we see appear in the news. Because my background and interests lean into academic research, you can likely expect more analysis of academic studies and reviews of scholarly works. As always, we will give our readers some insight into new developments in the arts & tech world, practical resources, and some critical analysis surrounding the arts and entertainment industries' most relevant issues:
What does the future hold for arts management and tech? How can we use creativity to imagine a future where our organizations are integrated with tech in a sustainable, ethical, and mission-serving way?
What tools exist that can support that vision?
How can we be prepared, knowledgeable, and ethically conscious when it comes to making technology-related decisions in our institutions?
Creative imagination and exploration are group activities, and our readers’ perspectives and feedback on our platform are encouraged and welcomed. Please engage with us through comments or our social channels.
