Museums are turning towards mobile apps more and more to capitalize on the smartphones already in everyone's hands and to improve the overall visitor experience. Although that sounds like a tall order, a successful and usable museum app can greatly enrich museum engagement with only a few key functions. We've looked at museum apps from The Met, The Louvre, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and others to analyze the essential elements that make an app work.
