Makerspaces are changing the way communities engage with the arts. A makerspace provides a community with a space to create, using shared tools and technologies.  As of late, makerspaces have become increasingly popular, as demonstrated by more of them popping up around the country each year.

AMT-Lab contributor Julia Lewis recently sat down with Nina Barbuto to talk about makerspaces and community spaces. Nina is the founder and director of Assemble, a community space for arts and technology. During this podcast, she shares with us some of the principles behind Assemble and the tools that are essential to making the space a success.
