Saatchi Art: Rethinking the Relationship Between Artists and Collectors

Are you looking for a great new piece of art to add to your collection? Or perhaps you’re a first time art buyer and don’t want to be intimidated or overwhelmed by visiting a dealer? Now you can browse the Saatchi Art app on your mobile device or desktop and purchase a work of art without leaving your home.

Saatchi Art is a virtual gallery for both artists and collectors. It hosts a collection of paintings, sculptures, and photographs in a variety of price ranges by artists from all over the world, providing a way for artists to exhibit and sell their work on a mobile platform.

The app has a clean layout and is quite intuitive to use. Immediately upon opening the app you can browse through curated works by categories such as “Gifts for Him” and “Artist of the Week.” Within a category, or in the browse function, scrolling through brilliant high-resolution pieces is a pleasure. There is no lag when you stop  check out the specs of a piece that interests you. Though you don’t have to create an account to browse, you can’t “like” an artist or a work or purchase a piece unless you sign in.
